Born on Feb. 2, 1945, Frank Clifford Boehnlein attended Rollins College during 1963-67 and received his Bachelor of Music degree magna cum laude in Composition and Piano. While a Rollins student, he also received the Presser Foundation Scholarship, General Reeves Scholarship, Ralph Lyman Baldwin Award in Compostion and was a member of the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
