Winter Park Garden Club Collection
Content Description
The Winter Park Garden Club (WPGC) was first established by the Winter Park Women's Club after holding its first flower show in Florida in 1922. As a non-profit organization, WPGC dedicates itself to further the education of members and the public in the fields of gardening, horticulture, botany, landscape design, conservation of natural resources, civic beautification, public sanitation, and nature studies. Besides Flower Shows, the organization also sponsors Experts' Talks, Hands on Education, WPGC Scholarship Endowment, Wekiva Environmental Youth Camp Scholarship and other community projects. The archives of WPGC include yearbooks, meeting minutes, annual reports, newsletters, scrapbooks, program information on flower shows, garden tours, classes and fundraisers, as well as articles and photos on the Mead Garden.
